Why terahertz matters
Terahertz is a non-visual wavelength that’s ideal for automotive imaging because of its ability to achieve unprecedented resolution in any weather.
It sits higher on the spectrum than radar, which can see through weather, but at low resolution, and lower on the spectrum than lidar or infrared, which can see at high resolution, but only in clear conditions.
TeraDAR is the first to unlock this “Goldilocks” frequency of the electromagnetic spectrum, creating a new category of 4D imaging sensor that sees through any weather in all lighting conditions, providing a clear image—and a huge leap in automotive safety systems.
